Installation overview
Download
Download the latest SwapCam Chrome extension ZIP to your computer.
Extract
Unzip the downloaded file into a folder you'll keep. Chrome loads the extension from this folder, so don't delete it afterwards.
Load unpacked
Open Chrome's Extensions page, turn on Developer mode, choose Load unpacked, and select the extracted SwapCam folder.
Start using
Open your supported video-call website, activate SwapCam, pick your face source, and start your call.
Each step is explained in more depth — including what you should see on screen and what to do when it goes wrong — in the full installation guide.
After installation
- Keep the extracted folder. Chrome loads the extension from that folder every time it starts. Deleting or moving it after installing will break the extension.
- Updating means re-downloading. Download the newest ZIP, extract it over the existing folder, then press reload on the SwapCam card in Chrome’s Extensions page.
